It is my honor to support Wendy Winston for NEA Director! Wendy is a loyal urban educator in GRPS who has her students’ best interests in mind at all times, even when it is difficult. Wendy embodies political action and has encouraged many people to become more politically active. We need more people like Wendy to step up and be leaders!
As Region 9 President, I'm glad to endorse Wendy Winston for re-election as NEA Director. I've worked with Wendy for more than six years in Region 9 leadership, and she has proven to be a dedicated advocate for our members. We need an experienced, dedicated advocate. This is a time for consistency as we face an inconsistent leader in the White House. Wendy's experience as an NEA Director will allow her to help guide our national organization, and it will open doors in the halls of Congress when she lobbies for our priorities. Re-electing Wendy ensures Michigan has a seasoned NEA Director who can continue to do the job and get results.
I wholeheartedly endorse Wendy for NEA Director. For years, she’s demonstrated her commitment to Michigan's educators and students. Her passion for advocacy is undeniable, and she consistently prioritizes the needs of both in every decision she makes. Wendy's dedication to public education is evident in her tireless engagement and active participation at the local, state and national levels. She's not afraid to speak truth to power and stand up for what's right. I have trust in Wendy’s integrity and commitment to NEA values. I got to know Wendy while attending NCUEA conferences together. She brings thoughtful insights and a genuine desire to learn and contribute to every discussion and session. She is personable, approachable, and truly listens. Wendy's dedication to our profession, combined with her unwavering integrity and passion, makes her an ideal candidate for NEA Director. She will be a strong voice for educators and a powerful advocate for public education. I urge you to join me in voting for her.
Wendy and I started in this organization together at about the same time. Her proven leadership has done well on many different levels. It is not often that I come out and vocalize my support for somebody, but this year, I will work to do that.
It is with great enthusiasm and full confidence that I endorse Wendy Winston for a second term on the NEA Board of Directors. Wendy has demonstrated unwavering commitment to public education, teacher advocacy, and union leadership throughout her career. Since 2004, Wendy has served as a dedicated Building Representative, consistently giving voice to educators, and ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed. Her leadership extended further as she took on the role of PAC Chair, advocating for pro-public education policies and candidates with passion and purpose. Wendy has also been a steadfast member of the Executive Board since 2006, where her insight, experience, and collaborative spirit have made her a trusted voice among her peers. As an NEA and MEA Representative Assembly Delegate since 2013, Wendy has proudly represented educators at both the state and national levels. Her ability to listen, lead, and take meaningful action has earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues across the education community. Wendy’s first term on the NEA Board of Directors showcased her deep understanding of the issues that impact educators and students alike. Her vision, advocacy, and tireless work ethic make her an invaluable asset to our profession. I wholeheartedly support her re-election and know she will continue to serve with integrity, dedication, and the heart of a true educator.
As Vice President of Secondary Education for PCEA, incoming Region 2 Treasurer, and a building rep, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many dedicated advocates, and Wendy Winston stands out. I first got to know Wendy when we served together as MEA Political Action Leaders, fighting shoulder to shoulder for public education. She is hard-working, kind, and full of integrity. But more than that, she’s a true leader, someone I trust, respect, and am proud to call a friend. Wendy has earned our support, and I’m proud to endorse her for re-election to the NEA Board.
As a school social worker, I have seen Wendy seek to understand how best to teach and support our mutual students with IEPs, wanting to ensure equitable outcomes for every child!
These days, I am a veteran delegate to the MEA RA, but I felt somewhat lost in my first couple of years. Right from the beginning, Wendy Winston was one of the people who served as an example of how to be a delegate. Her thoughtfulness, hard work, diligence, and commitment to the union stand as proof of her qualifications. This past year, I have also worked with Wendy as Kelloggsville EA's new delegate to Region 9. During the year, it has become even more clear to me that the work Wendy does is in order to be of service to the MEA and her fellow members, not to serve any agenda of her own. She has already demonstrated her exceptional abilities as a member of the NEA Board and is now seeking re-election. I wholeheartedly endorse Wendy Winston for re-election to the National Education Association Board of Directors.
